If you're not aware of the plans for the Guido=E2=80=99s property, they wer=
e revealed
at a planning and land use management meeting last week.  The developer is
named Passo and their plans were shocking to say the least.    7 stories, 1=
62
units, almost all studios. ZERO parking.  This will be a behemoth of a
building which goes with nothing around it. Nothing else is this height on
Santa Monica Blvd, not to mention 162 units mostly for individuals and not =
a
single parking spot.  This is unconscionable.  Even if under 20% of those
tenants have cars, that alone will take up nearly the entirety of South
Saltair's parking.  It=E2=80=99s already difficult to park on this side of =
Saltair and
this building will make it impossible.  The same developer is proposing a
6-story building on Exposition with zero parking as well.  This development=
 is
being processed through Executive Directive 1 from the mayor. Their intenti=
on
is to build this with zero consideration from the neighborhood.    Once
Guido's closed, everyone understood that something big was going to be buil=
t
there. This city needs housing, but it should be done with consideration. 7
stories, 162 units, and no parking is basically telling the neighborhood "d=
eal
with it."  The developer doesn't care at all, once they build they're on to
the next project.  None of them will ever have to deal with the nightmare o=
f
parking, the effects on local infrastructure and the eye sore.    I grew up=
 on
Saltair, I played on that street as a kid.  I went to grade school on Feder=
al.
Not everyone has this longevity, but this is our neighborhood, and I think
it's important for you all to be aware of what's happening.  My family plan=
s
on objecting to this construction (as presented) as do many of the neighbor=
s
now finding out about it.  I'd be interested in hearing people's thoughts.
