OC Energy Audits and Out= reach to Mobile Home Communities

This project will provide outreach= and education to low-and moderate-income Orange County communities about= energy-efficient appliance upgrades and solar opportunities. Through site= audits and guidance on available tax incentives and rebates=2C the progra= m will help residents=E2=80=94especially those in mobile home communities= =E2=80=94replace older=2C inefficient appliances with heat pumps=2C insula= tion=2C new windows=2C solar=2C and other critical retrofits. These improv= ements will reduce indoor air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions=2C wh= ile lowering utility costs and saving families essential funds=2C promotin= g healthier and more sustainable homes.

The Healing SPoT Educatio= nal Urban Farm and cottage village are transforming a long-forgotten site= along the CA-180 freeway into a vibrant space of affordable homes=2C heal= thy food=2C and community healing. Through classes and pl=C3=A1ticas on In= digenous land stewardship=2C urban farming=2C cooking=2C and composting=2C= residents engage in activities like seed saving=2C community composting= =2C and preparing seasonal=2C culturally appropriate recipes. The project= empowers the community by teaching hemp-crete construction=2C promoting c= ooperative and sustainable economics rooted in Black and Indigenous labor= =2C fostering collective problem-solving guided by nature=2C and encouragi= ng cultural exchange through storytelling.

Residents from Chollas View=2C Lincoln Park= =2C and surrounding historically redlined neighborhoods will lead stewards= hip efforts=2C including urban greening=2C public art=2C and green infrast= ructure projects. By restoring green spaces=2C beautifying sidewalks=2C an= d honoring community history=2C the initiative addresses climate vulnerabi= lity=2C fosters pride and safety=2C and empowers residents to co-design a= sustainable=2C equitable vision for their neighborhoods.
