Leon Osborne discovered a passion for hands-on work at a young age. Once he= got older and started looking for full-time work, he started a job in weld= ing. He realized that he desired to work in a cleaner industry and stumbled= upon woodworking. Together with his wife, Janice, Leon started several hob= byist projects and sold them through a local co-op store in Toccoa, GA.&nbs= p;

The couple continued to grow in their woodworking abilities and started to = build medicine cabinets, tables and other furnishings out of their small ga= rage. They started "Osborne Wood Products, Inc." in 1979 with a goal of pro= viding high-quality furniture pieces throughout the nation through an ethic= ally-sound business with a culture of caring.

A need was discovered in the market for table legs, and Leon decided to hal= t the sub-contract furniture production and develop a new product line of t= able legs and pedestal bases. This was the start of Osborne becoming a lead= ing international manufacturer of furniture components.

The company started to grow substantially, adding full-tim= e team members and expanding to a larger facility with better equipment. Th= is success unfortunately came to a halt in 1994 when lightning struck the b= usiness and a fire consumed 95% of the facility.

A tough decision had to be made following this tragedy. Shoul= d Leon and his associates move on to other opportunities or decide to start= over? Ultimately, the decision was made to rebuild and it proved to be the= right direction.

Osborne Wood Products came back stronger than ever. A few years after rebui= lding, the company developed their first ecommerce site, allowing them to r= each customers easily and expeditiously.

As the years went by, more enhancements were made to the company's equipmen= t and facility. The catalog continued to grow with orders reaching internat= ional customers and custom services becoming available. The company motto b= egan to define the day-to-day operations: "At Osborne Wood Products, In= c., we are committed to a partnership for success by providing superior ser= vice and world-class innovation through forward thinking and a culture of c= aring."

Additional warehouse spaces were added and the production/shipping areas we= re expanded to accommodate the continued sales of Osborne products. A new c= ustomer service office was built in 2008. These offices are still used to t= his day and house our award-winning customer service team.

Although a lot of advancements occurred on the manufacturing side of the co= mpany, Leon made sure to keep employees in focus. He had a large fitness ce= nter built onsite to help promote health and well-being. The center was bui= lt in 2004 with renovations occurring late last year. Inside you will find = a fully-functional basketball court, racquetball court, weight room and aer= obics room.

In 2025, Osborne Wood Products, Inc. is celebrating its 46th year of busine= ss. The main celebration will take place on Founder's Day (Thursday, July 1= 0).
