L.A. AL FRESCO PROGRAM=

 

= L.A. A= l Fresco launched in May 2020 as a temporary program to promote the economi= c vitality of our City=E2=80=99s restaurants during the COVID-19 emergency.=   The program created a new, streamlined process for restaurants to ob= tain free approvals for outdoor dining on private property, sidewalks, and = in the streets adjacent to their establishments. It also temporarily relaxe= d the regulations that would otherwise govern outdoor dining, including zon= ing regulations, fees, and permitting procedures. Over 3,000 businesses hav= e participated in L.A. Al Fresco. In response to the success of this tempor= ary program. City is now working to make L.A. Al Fresco = permanent!

 

= In ord= er to help facilitate this transition process, the City will be closing the temporar= y application system on September 30, 2023. Food and drink establishments = that have not already obtained L.A. Al Fresco authorizations are encouraged= to apply before this deadline.  Applications take roughly 15 minutes = to complete. The City will launch a new permanent application system at a l= ater date.

In response, the Southern California Gas Company (SoCal Gas= ) recently announced a $1 million contribution to the Gas Assistance Fund.<= /span>
