That’s why he was inspi= red by the waters and reefs of Polynesia in creating Avatar: The Way of Water, the sequel to= the biggest-grossing movie of all time=2E It’s a plea, he says, for= us to unplug, even briefly, and understand why the undersea world matters= =2E

“The coral reefs will be a thing that exists only in fil= ms in 50 to 75 years, in most places around the planet,” the Nat Geo= Explorer at Large (pictured above) tells us=2E “= ;It’s kind of a cri de cœur … to r= emember, to celebrate and fall in love with again, and therefore remember t= o protect that which we’re losing=2E”
