= The Reverence Project=E2=80=99s Survivor=E2=80=99s Healing Garden wil= l serve as a place of reflection and gathering for survivors of violent cr= ime in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles. Featuring native California= vegetation=2C meditative trails=2C pergolas=2C and art installations=2C t= his green space will facilitate healing and restorative justice solutions= among community members.

= Our main August project will be the construction of the garden pathway in= front of the Reverence Project office. We will be working in the shade to= beat the heat=2C but please remember to bring your reusable water bottle.=

The= Survivor=E2=80=99s Healing garden will represent innovation in conservati= on=2C improve LA=E2=80=99s resilience=2C and protect human health. While L= A actively protects =E2=80=9Csensitive ecological areas=2C=E2=80=9D this p= roject illustrates the sensitivity of the overbuilt areas of LA. Watts exp= eriences temperatures 4.7=C2=B0F degrees hotter than the city average. The= project will train Watts residents in the value of urban greenery and in= the methods of civic engagement that will help secure funding for more of= it. In addition to those actively engaged in its creation and our ongoing= programming=2C signage will educate the passersby. Just as important=2C w= e will work to educate greater LA about the importance of equitably distri= buting urban greenery to the resilience of the region as a whole.
