Holland America recently announced that one of their ships, the Volendam, will be berthed in the port of Rotterdam for the next three months to serve as temporary housing for approximately 1,500 refugees from Ukraine, as part of a commitment by the Dutch government to assist and accommodate 50,000 displaced Ukrainians.

Under Holland America's charter with the city of Rotterdam, those living aboard the ship will have their own stateroom accommodations with regular meals provided, housekeeping, internet access and the use of onboard public spaces. Passengers who were booked to sail on the ship have the option of rescheduling or cancelling for a full refund.

We recognize and apologize for the inconvenience to passengers whose cruises were cancelled as a result of this agreement and thank them for their sacrifice. We applaud the Dutch government and Holland America for their contributions in coming to the aid of Ukrainians forced to flee their homes due to the Russian invasion.
