O= riginally scheduled for January, the ceremony was rescheduled to March 6th = due to the devastating Southland fires. We invite you to join us not only t= o celebrate the incredible achievements of our honorees but also the resili= ence and strength of an industry that continues to persevere through challe= nging times. Melissa Vantr= ease is Senior Vice President of Labor & Employment = at NBCUniversal and is responsible for the labor and employment law functio= ns across Universal Destinations & Experiences (=E2=80=9CUDX=E2=80=9D).= Melissa and her team advise UDX global businesses in Hollywood, Orlando, O= saka, and Beijing, along with new venues opening in Las Vegas and Frisco (T= exas) and brand merchandising, covering up to 70,000 employees. = ;

Melissa advises ac= ross multiple jurisdictions on wage and hour laws, time off, accommodations= , discrimination & harassment, policies, performance management, workfo= rce planning, and investigations. She has expertise in ever-expanding= employee rights under the National Labor Relations Act. She also leads the= labor relations strategy for the represented workforce at Universal Studio= s Hollywood, including negotiating and administering contracts with traditi= onal industry unions like IATSE and the Basic Crafts, as well as the hospit= ality union, UNITE HERE Local 11.

Like AMEC, 2025 ma= rks Melissa=E2=80=99s 20th anniversary at NBCUniversal, and she has built a reputation for = being direct, practical, and a creative problem solver.    W= hen she started, she led labor relations at Universal Studios Hollywood. Sh= e transitioned to Entertainment Labor Relations, advising on scripted and u= nscripted productions. She moved into her current role in 2019.

Before joining NBC= Universal, Melissa was a labor and employment attorney at Sheppard Mullin. = Melissa earned a B.A. with Honors from UCLA, is a member of Phi Beta Kappa,= and earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Melissa has thr= ee children (Austin - 15, Dale - 13, Cayla - 10) whom she shuttles to and f= rom school, baseball, hockey, fine arts, and Costco!
